my name is amy, and i am an addict....

I can't believe it's been a week since I've posted. I'm not sure where the time has gone, although I'm pretty sure I spent most of it watching dogs :) We had about 30 dogs boarding over Christmas. About half have gone home, so things are getting back to normal, but one of our employees is off until New Years so we've been working a lot. Especially Jeff, bless him. He's put in at least 12 hours a day everyday since Christmas Eve.

As for today's topic, yes, I am an addict, but not to anything dangerous or that will turn me into a mugger or anything (I don't think).  I'm addicted to Pyrex. I can't help it. I see it and I have to buy it. As long it's at the right price, of course. I think the best thing about selling vintage is that I can enjoy the pieces I find until I sell them. And since my house is slowly turning into a warehouse with all the inventory I have, I decided to make use of some shelves I have in my kitchen to store/display Pyrex. Here it is:

I have one shelf left, so hopefully I will sell a few pieces before I find more :)

Happy hunting!

  2. That is a gorgeous way to display the Pyrex. Mine is in an open corner shelf and needs rearranging! Love your mix of patterns and colors. Oh and this is a good addiction.

  3. It looks great! I am addicted to it too! I am not sure why I keep buying it because it is so expensive to ship and it is a s-l-o-w seller for me -- but I just can not help myself when I see it! I am thinking maybe I should just collect it for myself and quit selling it. (even though - ironically- I did sell a piece a couple of days ago) Anyway, I realized I have the Pyrex Problem when I was looking at my favorite Estate Sale website and considered driving 4 hours to a sale because I saw Pyrex in the photos! I had to slowly go back and look through the photos again and really the Pyrex was the only thing special. I keep telling myself I can't make a trip that long unless I see 25 things I want :)

  4. Oooh, nice. So, big question - how do you differentiate between what you keep and what you sell?

  5. sixballoons - good question and the answer is that the line is very blurry! in fact, the bowl in the top right corner is mine, but i had an empty spot, so i filled it with that. i keep anything in aqua/turquoise and any promotional pieces in other colors that i really like. i'm also considering collecting the woodland in brown since i think it goes nicely with the turquoise. my kitchen is red, aqua, and brown so anything that i can make fit that scheme is mine :)
